Congrats to Pakistan Special Olympics Team(and also something 4 our so called normal players)

Although its a bit late but as they say “Dair aai durust aai” .

I was following da news of special olympics (2-11 October 2007) organized in china in which Pakistan was participating in nine events (I think the games got lesser coverage then the games deserved to get) and it was really a proud feeling to see the outstanding performance by the Pakistani team as a whole and players as individuals.

Pakistan got a total of 43 medals out of which 14 were gold,15 silver and 14 bronze and the thing which was something new for me was that a player can only participate once in the special olympics in his life time so that others may get their chance of expressing their skills.

As it was sung by a Pakistani singer “Bunny” 4-5 years ago for our team

“Hum Bhi Jeetai hain aur kamyaab hain

motioon ki tarha hum bhi naiaab hai”

But if I look at da performance of our “non-special” players or so called normal players i don’t find such committed effort when it comes to olympics or n e other sports.

we used to be world champs of Cricket, hockey, squash and snooker(although we are not champions of amature but Muhammad Yusuf has da professional title but still da standard on the bigger circuit is going down) and now da situation is getting worse in these games.

We all saw yesterday the winning spirit of our NORMAL CRICKET team (how dai lost a match after almost reaching to a real winning position) , it was just a real lack of commitment i think our “normal” players need to have some abnormalities or specialities of commitment and teamwork.

any ways for Pakistan special olympics team , i can only say

“Stand up 4 da championz!”

sir u r really special to us!
